Dr. Murdock is a professor at California State University, Long Beach. He is the author of six novels: The Pain Artist, My Vietnam War, A Psalm for Cock Robin, Crueltown, The End of the Civil War, and Who Owns Arizona? He is the Executive Editor of The FictionWeek Literary Review.

he takes all the mystery out of the process of POV and for the writer with some experience it’s an excellent refresher course

E.E. "Doc" Murdock takes you through all the steps of creating a story in the first person, second and third person. For a beginner, he takes all the mystery out of the process of POV and for the writer with some experience it’s an excellent refresher course. That Doc is a professor with a lifetime of teaching experience makes HOW TO an outstanding and exceptional tool for writers, both new and experienced. In teaching each mode, he provides instruction as he writes a short story for each person. His provision of a summary he at the end of each section along with Tips is a huge bonus. I can’t recommend this book enough!

This book didn't come off like a how-to-write book

I am a beginning writer and I've read many "How to Write..." books, but few are in my library. I've added this book to my library. This book didn't come off like a how-to-write book. I felt Dr. Murdock's approach was more of a, "Come here, let me show you something." I suggest you add this to your library.
